I have always had a fondness for the music of the harp and my mother just recently suggested that I take lessons. Since, I'm a complete novice, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what kind of harp is the best to start out with. I'd be ever so appreciative!

Greetings Miss. Boffin!
Most people start with a small folk harp, even if they wish to eventually study Pedal harp. You should start by finding a teacher in your area. Usually, they have harps that you can rent or borrow while you're starting out and when you're ready they'll help purchase one. The first two links are places where you can find a teacher, the other two are places to find harps. I wish you all the best and welcome to the community.
